Job Opportunities - Biotechnology Workshop Facilitator
Description
This role involves working in schools facilitating hands-on biotechnology workshops across the Sydney metropolitan area and optionally the Hunter and Illawarra regions. This dynamic role is an alternative to traditional classroom teaching.
You will be representing a growing company that specialises in Biotechnology in schools and be working closely with the Managing Director day to day.
This role would be ideal for someone who wants to work casually with a substantial amount of flexibility. As much as possible we will be able to work around your schedule. Dates are planned well in advance so you can combine this role effectively with relief teaching work.
You will receive on the job training with the opportunity to shadow a team member until you are confident. All resources for workshops will be provided, however, you will need to have your own vehicle to travel across the city as required.
Contract: 6 month casual contract, with the possibility of extension
Skills required
Knowledge of electrophoresis, microbiology and genetic engineering techniques.
Strong presentation skills
Strong communication skills to coordinate with schools
Ability to work independently without supervision
Drivers license and own vehicle
Experience teaching the NSW stage 6 biology syllabus desired, but not required
Qualifications Required
Undergraduate level qualification preferred:
Bachelor of science in a biological science field OR
Bachelor of education with biology training OR
Currently studying one of these degrees
Remuneration: $75 per hour including travel time.
